• If you are coming from Roma, go North towards Firenze. From the International Airport Fiumicino, take Via Francesco Paolo Remotti and Via Marco de Bernardi in the direction of A91. Follow the Grande Raccordo Annulare (GRA)/A90 and A1/E35 in the direction of SS478 to Chiusi.
• Exit at Chiusi-Chianciano Terme and pay the toll. They accept credit cards.
• Follow the road 100 m and turn left, in the direction of Sarteano.
• When you arrive in Sarteano (6.7 km from the toll booth), go straight through the roundabout.
• Pass through the traffic light and after 200 m turn left towards Castiglioncello del Trinoro and follow the road out of town. Follow the brown sign for “Borgo medievale di Castiglioncello del Trinoro.”
• The road makes a sharp turn right after 600 m from your previous turn in the heart of Sarteano. Stay on the paved road at the “fork” and head up the hill.
• After 4 km, you’ll come to a second “fork” in the road where the road bears to the left or turns slightly right to a gravel road. Continue to follow the brown sign for “Borgo medievale di Castiglioncello del Trinoro” and turn right onto the gravel road.
• After about 2 km of a gravel road, you’ll reach the village of Castiglioncello del Trinoro.
• Drive towards the center of the village and take the little road up on the right, following the square, wooden “Monteverdi” signs.
• You will find the Concierge on your right; please stop in front of the office and our staff will take care of you.

From Siena

There are two different options, the first is a motorway, the second is a more scenic route. The scenic route is stunning but is only for the most confident drivers.

Motorway Route:
• Take the E78 towards Rapolano Terme/Perugia.
• At Bettolle, exit and travel on the A1 going south towards Roma.
• Exit at Chiusi-Chianciano Terme, after paying the toll. Credit cards are accepted.
• Follow the road 100 m and turn left, in the direction of Sarteano.
• When you arrive in Sarteano (6.7 km from the toll booth), go straight through the roundabout. After passing the only traffic light in town and after 200 m, turn left towards Castiglioncello del Trinoro. More details are in the Autostrada directions above.
• Follow the road out of town and after 4 km, turn right onto a gravel road.
• After about 2 km, you’ll reach the village of Castiglioncello del Trinoro.
• Drive towards the center of the village and take the little road up on the right, following the square, wooden “Monteverdi” signs.
• You will find the Concierge on your right; please stop in front of the office and our staff will take care of you.

Scenic Route, for the confident driver:
• Take the SS2 (or SR2) CASSIA south out of SIENA. Keep following signs for Roma. The road winds through the Tuscan countryside, passing the towns of Monteroni, Buonconvento, and Torrenieri.
• After 40 km, you will reach the town of San Quirico d’Orcia.
• Approximately 5 km after San Quirico, turn left onto the SP53 and follow the signs towards Chianciano. If you reach the turn to Bagno Vignoni, you have gone too far.
• Follow this road straight through a 4-way intersection and follow the signs towards Chianciano.
• After 5 km from the intersection, go underneath an overpasa.
• Take the left ramp that will take you to a road that goes towards La Foce. Follow signs for the A1 Autostrada and Chianciano. The road begins to wind up the hill.
• After 4 km, you’ll see the restaurant DopoLavoro La Foce on your left.
• After passing the restaurant, turn right at the first street on your right. You will see a brown sign that says “Loc. La Foce” in front of you. Follow directional signs toward Chiarentana.
• You are 6.5 km from Castiglioncello del Trinoro. Stay on “STRADA DELLA FOCE E DELLA FORNACE.”
• After 800 m, you will see a small cemetery on your left, and after 1.6 km, Villa Chiarentana will be on your right. Stay on the tree lined cypress road.
• After another 1.8 km, you will find a large, rectangular sign that says “Attenzione. Strada di Montagna, Procedere con cautela.” It is a sign that invites drivers to be cautious, and the road becomes steep and a bit rough at times. Please do not turn right towards Torre Tarugi.
• After another 1.3 km, you will find the same warning sign. This is another tricky point if you use a GPS: again, please do not turn right.
• Travel another 1.6 km and you will see the parking area for Castiglioncello del Trinoro on your right. Do not enter the parking lot, but continue on this road as you will need to go around Castiglioncello for 500 m as the roads in Castiglioncello are one-way.
• Turn right into Castiglioncello, towards the center of the village.
• At a fork, take the little road up on the right, following the square, wooden “Monteverdi” signs.
• You will find the Concierge on your right; please stop in front of the office and our staff will take care of you.

From Chiusi Train Station

• From the train station, head north towards Via Buonarotti. After 130 m, turn left on Via Cassia Aurelia and keep straight on Via Leonardo da Vinci/Strada Provinciale 146 di Chianciano. Follow the green signs towards the A1 Autostrada (also directions to Chianciano Terme and Sarteano are fine).
• Keep following the road for about 4 km, then turn left at the junction for the Autostrada A1.
• Continue towards Sarteano which is 6.7 km from the A1 Junction.
• When you arrive in Sarteano, go straight through the roundabout, passing the only traffic light in town and after 200 m turn left towards Castiglioncello del Trinoro. For more details, see the directions above from the turn in Sarteano.
