VILLA RENTALS

The use of indigenous materials is central to the meticulous and authentic reconstruction, and managed by renowned Italian restorer and builder Giorgio Miani. Local woods, Tuscan flagstone and granite, and Carrara marble, give each room a distinct appearance that is authentically grounded in the spirit of the Val d’Orcia.

Working in tandem with her husband, world-famous designer Ilaria Miani has infused Monteverdi with her own tasteful and eclectic sensibility that embraces simplicity while exuding style. Making a point of highlighting original beams, arches, and stairways that have existed for centuries, she naturally integrates the ancient with contemporary furnishings to create perfect balance. High-end finishes on cabinets and bookshelves, custom light fixtures in rooms, hand carved sinks and showers, custom-designed wood furniture, and hand-dyed linens have been thoughtfully selected from Italy, Egypt, Tunisia, and Spain.

Each stunning villa at Monteverdi brings the ultra-modern together with the best of the past. From spacious bedrooms appointed with luxurious furnishings to oversized marble baths that replenish body and soul, life at Monteverdi is calming. You’ll enjoy a state-of-the-art kitchen where a private chef can prepare a Tuscan meal. Also available are selections from Monteverdi’s private wine cellars filled with cases from local appellations, so you can savor the wondrous tastes of Tuscany while sitting on a terrace overlooking Monte Amiata.

From Etruscan roots below gravel roads to the Sienese gate that welcomes you in to stone dwellings on foundations that were constructed during the Middle Ages, everything here looks precisely as it did centuries ago.

Each villa at Monteverdi has been painstakingly restored to further preserve the village’s remarkable legacy. Local artisans and archaeologists have been engaged to ensure ancient walls intertwine organically with modern comforts.
