Gabriele Pieranunzi, Jin Ju & The Philharmonia Chamber Players

Violin, Piano and String Quartet

Jin Ju, a Chinese-born Italian pianist, and violinist Gabriele Pieranunzi meet the string quartet composed by the principals of the Philharmonia Orchestra, London, to play the famous Concerto op. 21 by Chausson and Dvorak’s “American” string quartet.

Gabriele Pieranunzi is one of the best Italian violinists of his generation. He graduated at the age of 16 under the guidance of Arrigo Pelliccia at the Conservatoire G. Verdi in Turin and then specialized with Stefan Gheorghiu. Winner of important international contests, he performed under the baton of prestigious conductors such as: Aldo Ceccato, Alun Francis, Lü Jia, Jeffrey Tate, Piero Bellugi, Matthias Bamert, Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli, Anton Nanut, Nicholas Cleobury, Gianandrea Noseda and Hansjörg Albrecht. Invited several times to play the “Cannone”, the famous violin belonged to Niccolò Paganini, Mr. Pieranunzi is regular guest of the most important music institutions, such as: Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome, Accademia Chigiana in Siena, Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto, Herkulessaal in Munich, Baden Baden Philharmonie, Rtsi in Lugano, Filarmonica George Enescu in Bucharest, Wigmore Hall in London, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra of Budapest, Malmö Symphony Orchestra, Opera City Hall in Tokyo, Festival Mozart in La Coruña and Teatro Coliseum in Buenos Aires. Since 2004 is the Concertmaster of the Teatro San Carlo’s orchestra in Naples. He has recently recorded Kurt Weill’s Concerto for violin and winds with Jeffrey Tate and Mendelssohn’s Complete Piano Quartets for Decca. He plays a 1848 Joseph Ceruti violin, owned by Il Canale Onlus Foundation.

Winner of the Gold Medal at the RNCM in Manchester, Jin Ju started her international career after she was laureate in the Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow and in Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels.

Her recordings with MDG label won an Echo Klassik Prize for “recording of the Year” in Berlin in 2012, an “Grand Prix du Disque Frédéric Chopin” in Warsaw in 2015. Jin Ju is currently Piano Professor at the Imola International Piano Academy, Artist in Residence at the Accademia Bartolomeo Cristofori in Florence, Guest Professor at the Beijing Central Conservatory of Music.

Philharmonia Chamber Players (string quartet)
The Philharmonia Chamber Players string quartet is composed by Fabrizio Falasca, Sarah Oates (violins) Yukiko Ogura (viola), Eric Villeminey (cello) and made by principals of the prestigious Philharmonia Orchestra of London based in the Royal Festival Hall. They perform regularly in the most important concert Season throughout Europe and Uk.
