Gianluca Buratto - Inspirations and New Ways
This concert has been rescheduled to take place on April 11, after previously being scheduled for April 13. We apologize for the inconvenience. We look forward to seeing you on April 11!
Since winning the 2015 Honens International Piano Competition, Gianluca Buratto blazed onto the world stage with a reception most musicians dream about. His sold-out debut recitals at Wigmore and Carnegie Hall heralded the young Italian pianist as “a name to watch” (The Guardian) and “no ordinary virtuoso” (The Telegraph). Critics and audiences across the globe are quickly recognizing Luca Buratto as a distinctive performer.
In March 2018, Buratto made his recital debut at Konzerthaus Berlin followed by a performance of Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 2 with the London Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Thomas Søndergård at Royal Festival Hall in April. Buratto’s season of concert performances include the Orchestra Sinfonica Giuseppe Verdi in Milan, the Toronto Symphony, Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra and the Edmonton Symphony. Equally at home on the recital stage, concert hall and in chamber music, Buratto’s festival appearances and residencies include Progetto Martha Argerich, Lugano Festival, Marlboro Music Festival (USA), and the Ottawa Chamber Music Festival (Canada). In the upcoming season, he will perform recitals in Florence, Turin, Padua and Berlin. His studio debut recording of works by Schumann was released on the Hyperion label in April 2017 and was “recording of the month” for May 2017, gaining wonderful reviews on the major international magazine.
