Born in Moscow, Vavara is one of the most outstanding pianists of the new Russian generation She was launched onto the international scene after winning the first Prize of the Concours Géza Anda in Zurich in 2012.

Varvara studied at the Gnessin State Musical College and at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory with Mikhail Voskressensky. She later moved to Hamburg specializing under the guidance of Evgeni Koroliov. Winner of the Leipzig Bach Competition (2006) and of the Concours Géza Anda in Zurich. Varvara boasts a rich repertoire includes almost all periods and styles, from Bach and Handel to Stravinsky and Arvo Pärt. Varvara has quickly established a remarkable musical reputation performing with prestigious orchestras including Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra, Vienna Chamber Orchestra, Tonhalle Orchester Zürich, Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra, Tchaikovky Symphony Orchestra, Gulbenkian Orchestra, performing under the baton of Valery Gergiev, David Zinman, Cornelius Meister, Clemens Schuldt, Yaron Traub and Vladimir Fedosseyev. As a recitalist, she has offered numerous concerts in Lucerne, Bilbao, Madrid, Moscow, Paris, Barcelona, Alicante, Lille, Santiago de Chile, Valladolid, Lyon, Saint Petersburg, Prague, Girona, Hamburg, Valencia, Lausanne, Zurich and Dortmund, among others. Recently performed in Turin (Lingotto) with Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra and Valery Gergiev, in Canarian Islands International Music Festival with Vienna Chamber Orchestra and at the Radio France Festival in Montpellier, among others.
