Weiyin Chen


Weiyin Chen is a young Taiwanese/American pianist, hailed by the New York Times as “a thoughtful, lyrical and accomplished artist.”

In a time of promising young virtuosos from all over the world, the Taiwanese-American pianist Weiyin Chen stands out not just for her dazzling technique, but above all for the sheer musicality and maturity of her playing. 2018/2019 season includes her debut in Milan with I Solisti di Milano Classica, in addition to an all Schubert recording for the Amadeus magazine in Italy. Recent highlights include performances at Carnegie Hall in New York, at the New Year Music Festival in Gstaad Switzerland and several concerts with the Camerata RCO (Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Amsterdam), after releasing a successful CD including works by Mendelssohn e Mozart. She regularly collaborates with Miró Quartet, David Aaron Carpenter, Gary Hoffman, Ilya Gringolts, performing in France, Italy, Netherlands, Denmark, India and Taiwan. Ms. Chen advocates charity work combining the healing power of music and medicine, often performing in favour of the humanitarian project founded by her father, world-renowned surgeon Dr. Hung-Chi Chen.
