Ichos Percussions: Percussion Ensemble

The ensemble’s repertoire includes masterpieces by composers who have become milestones in the genre (Cage, Reich, Varèse, Zivkovic, Glass), and many Italian composers (among others, Boccadoro, Sollima, Ugoletti, Cara).

Ichos Percussion was founded in 2013 with the aim of exploring the extremely engaging repertoire for percussion ensemble. The ensemble’s repertoire includes masterpieces by composers who have become masters of the genre (Cage, Reich, Varése,

Zivkovic, Glass), and many Italian composers (e.g. Boccadoro, Sollima, Ugoletti, Cara). In June 2022 Kinds Evolution was released, the ensemble’s first album, which includes Cage’s Three Constructions and a few works especially written by Italian composers.

For the recording, the ensemble carried out in-depth research on instrumentation and timbres so as to respect tradition as well as giving a modern touch. Upcoming highlights include several concerts in Italy with a “traditional” percussion repertoire as well as a jazz repertoire.
