Substratum: A Writing Residency by Jeremy O. Harris
12-time Tony Award-nominated playwright, actor, and producer Jeremy O. Harris leads his inaugural writer’s residency, Substratum, made possible by the generous support of Gucci.
Set within out medieval village and surrounded by the Val d’Orcia, a UNESCO World Heritage site, Substratum is a new home for artists where their imagination can blossom and boundless creativity is encouraged.
Private workshops and on-site mentorship opportunities with visionary artists will inspire the hand-selected playwrights from the Yale School of Drama throughout the month-long experience.
About Jeremy O. Harris
Jeremy O. Harris is the playwright and creator of the most Tony-nominated Broadway play ever, Slave Play. His play “DADDY” opened to great acclaim at the Almeida Theatre in London in March 2022, and in Japan at the Tokyo Globe Theatre and Cool Japan Park Osaka. Jeremy co-wrote A24’s critically-acclaimed feature Zola alongside director Janicza Bravo, which won two 2022 Independent Spirit Awards. His television credits include HBO’s hit series Euphoria and TV adaptation of Irma Vep.
