Culinary Academy
Sharpen your skills by learning the art of Tuscan cooking in an ancient and atmospheric setting. Our state-of-the-art kitchen space hosts cooking classes, private dining and chef’s table experiences.
The setting
Our intimate, beautiful learning space is set in a historic building that, fittingly, served for two centuries as a school for the local children.
Today, our convivial, well-equipped teaching kitchen can comfortably accommodate up to ten students with an indoor and outdoor dining area just below the village piazza in which to tuck into your creations.
The classes
Cooking classes, tastings and seminars at the Culinary Academy are led by a team of engaging and passionate instructors including Chef Giancarla Bodoni, and overseen by our Executive Chef, Riccardo Bacciotini.
During these convivial classes, participants can socialize and share in the experience with other guests while learning to make authentic Tuscan dishes using local ingredients, including from Monteverdi's own gardens.
Make pasta, from tagliatelle to ravioli and pici, or learn how to prepare ricotta cheese with fresh, local milk, spreading it on warm sourdough bread. The Academy also features chef-led pastry classes.
Guests can also join wine tastings led by an in-house sommelier, wine seminars that are hosted by the most iconic winemakers of the region, or take part in olive oil and cheese tastings that guide guests on the aromas and flavors of Tuscany.
