Executive Chef Riccardo Bacciottini

A native of this rich, idyllic region, Executive Chef Riccardo Bacciottini was born in nearby Poggibonsi, Siena, just 90 minutes’ drive south of Monteverdi.

From a young age, he was captivated by the landscape and its flavors. Growing up in rural Tuscany sparked his fascination with food, and inspired Riccardo to leave Italy to build his knowledge and skills in Michelin-starred kitchens all over the world.  

He began his professional career in Paris under Edoardo D’Alto, then progressed to work in London at Gordon Ramsay’s Maze. It was at the internationally renowned culinary institution of Noma in Copenhagen that Riccardo honed his culinary philosophy - particularly his devotion to home-grown ingredients and embracing innovation.

Now, Riccardo has come full circle, returning to his Tuscan roots, back to the place that first inspired his love of food.

He is deeply engaged with the local producers and purveyors of the region, making sure every element served at Monteverdi is selected with meticulous care and attention.

Best known for his passion for foraging, sustainability and storytelling, he devotes himself and his menus to the abundance and essence of the land, and guests can look forward to a journey of discovery through his authentic, evocative dishes that explore the centuries of culinary history that made Tuscan cuisine the most desired in the world.
