Guided hike

Starting from our village of Castiglioncello del Trinoro, this guided hike leads you on a journey to discover the history and natural beauty of the surrounding area and of the Pietraporciana Nature Reserve, an oasis filled with seemingly endless and centuries-old beech trees.

Established in 1996, the reserve is populated with 341 hectares of beechwood trees, faggeta, botanical species and wild plants. Hike through this beautiful land that stretches across the Val d'Orcia and Val di Chiana and soars as high as 847 meters above sea level and take in the stunning beauty that surrounds you. 

The forest has something to discover every season and is enhanced by trails that crisscross the reserve. Choose a restful spot and be awestruck by nature while enjoying a picnic lunch or return back to Monteverdi for a picnic in the gardens.
