Monteverdi Art Gallery: Nicolas Deshayes

For his first solo show at Monteverdi, By Sarah McCrory, Nicolas Deshayes will be premiering a new body of ceramic reliefs that he has been working on in the town of Nove, (Vicenza) since January 2024. Nove is one of the great centres of Italian ceramic production.

Inspired by the context in which they were made, this new series of works explores food production, presentation, consumption, and digestion. The sculptures, feature references to farming, agricultural machinery, pastoral scenes, industrial catering and artisanal modes of production.
