Francesca Aspromonte soprano
Renowned as one of the best interpreters of the Baroque and classical repertoire, Mozarteum graduate Francesca Aspromonte has been the star of recitals in such venues as Teatro alla Scala, Carnegie Hall, Teatro La Fenice, Moscow Conservatory Grand Hall, Wiener Konzerthaus, Wiener Musikverein, Royal Albert Hall, Opéra Royal de Versailles, and the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées. She has sung under the baton of Zubin Metha, John Eliot Gardiner, Ivor Bolton, Christophe Rousset, Diego Fasolis, Ottavio Dantone, Giovanni Antonini, Maxim Emelyanichev, Enrico Onofri, Leonardo García Alarcón, Raphaël Pichon, Stefano Montanari, and Gustavo Gimeno. Francesca recorded for Deutsche Grammophon, Sony DHM, Alpha Classics, Christophorus, Harmonia Mundi, Ricercare, Arcana, and HDB Sonus. Her solo albums for Pentatone, Prologue with the Il Pomo d’oro ensemble and Enrico Onofri, and Maria e Maddalena with violinist Boris Begelman and I Barocchisti under the baton of Diego Fasolis, have both been critically acclaimed worldwide. Since 2019, Francesca teaches interpretation of the Italian baroque repertoire at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague.
Boris Begelman
Quickly established as one of the most interesting violinists of his generation, Boris Begelman performed as soloist or Concertmaster on international stages such as the Berliner Philharmonie, the Wiener Musikverein, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, Wigmore Hall, and Liceu theatre in Barcelona. He has conducted orchestras such as the Accademia Bizantina, Il Pomo d’oro, Accademia Montis Regalis, Jerusalem Baroque Orchestra, and the Arion Baroque Orchestra as well as soloists such as Vivica Genaux, Max Cenčić, and Simone Kermes. In 2014 he founded his ensemble Arsenale Sonoro, which debuted with a critically acclaimed album for Sony DHM focused on Telemann’s violin sonatas. Boris has recorded for Deutsche Grammophon, Decca, Sony Classics, Alpha, Erato-Warner, Virgin Classics, Aparte, Naïve Classics, Pentatone. He recently recorded 6 virtuoso Vivaldi concertos for Naïve Classics as part of the prestigious Vivaldi Edition Catalog (n.9 Le Nuove Vie), worldwide critically acclaimed. His latest solo album “Scarlatti violin sonatas” for Obsidian Records was released in September 2022.
Arsenale Sonoro
Founded by Boris Begelman in 2014, the Arsenale Sonoro ensemble rapidly gained success among critics all over the world with its first album “Telemann violin sonatas” (Deutsche Harmonia Mundi – 2015). The second album was released for Obsidian in September 2022 and focuses on Domenico Scarlatti’s violin sonatas. The ensemble, specializes in an 18th-century orchestral and chamber music repertoire, and has performed at festivals such as La Valletta Baroque Festival, the Bologna Festival, Timisoara Early Music Festival, Mittelfest, the Pur ti miro Festival, Urbino Early Music Festival, the Monteverdi Tuscany Festival, Unione Musicale, Florence’s Amici della Musica concert season, and the Concerti del Quirinale. Among their upcoming engagements are: a concert for Musik und Kirche in Sterzing; a concert for the Roma Festival Barocco; and a concert for the Argiano Baroque Festival. They also accompany soprano Francesca Aspromonte in her new album for Pentatone, to be released in October 2023.
