About the artists:

Matthew Cairns is a Canadian tenor, he was a 2022 Grand Finals Winner of the Metropolitan Opera’s Laffont Competition, and recently completed his second season in the Lindemann Young Artist Development Program. He returned to the Met stage during the 2023–24 season to cover Walther in Tannhäuser and Leonard in Kevin Puts’s The Hours. This season also marked his European debut at the Opéra de Toulon, where he sang Nicias in Thaïs under the baton of Victorien Vanoosten. He made his Met debut
in the 2022-23 season as the Messenger in Aida and covered Bob Boles in Peter Grimes, then made role debuts as Macduff in Macbeth at the Canadian Opera Company and Don José in Carmen at the Des Moines Metro Opera.

Soprano Brittany Olivia Logan recently completed her third season with the Metropolitan Opera’s Lindemann Young Artist Development Program. During the Met’s 2023–24 season, she sang Anna in Nabucco and covered Bianca in La Rondine. In spring 2024, she appeared as Gerhilde in a concert production of Die Walküre on a European tour with
the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Yannick Nézet-Séguin. Future engagements include a role and house debut with the Lyric Opera of Kansas City. Recent engagements at the Met include her company debut as the Priestess in Aida and Clotilde in Norma.

Baltimore-born baritone Daniel Rich recently completed his second season in the Metropolitan Opera’s Lindemann Young Artist Development Program. During the 2023–24 season, he appeared as Pâris in Roméo et Juliette and as Chester in Terence Blanchard’s Fire Shut Up in My Bones. He made his Met debut during the 2022–23 season as a Waiter in Der Rosenkavalier and covered the Count of Lerma in Don Carlo. Earlier this summer, he made his company debut at the Des Moines Metro Opera, where he sang the First Nazarene and covered Jochanaan in Salome, and sang Willie McDonald in Damien Geter and Lila Palmer’s American Apollo.
